Just in time for Halloween, Jack Bass and Jæson Anthony drop "BLK" remix

While trap music primarily functions as a raw, party-starting genre, there's also sometimes an element of creepiness to it that I really love.  TNGHT's track "Acrylics" comes to mind – the eerie music-box melody prepares one for the approaching onslaught.  A vicious, speaker-rattling drop is about as violent as it gets in the EDM world, and what better way to lead into it than with a little bit of horror-soundtrack suspense.

Jack Bass understands this.  For him, Halloween lasts all year, and his productions are highlighted by his knack for spookiness.  His latest track, "BLK" is a perfect holiday tune, with an extra treat for your goody-bag; Philly rapper Jæson Anthony, who proceeds to murder the track (sorry I'll lay off the Halloween puns now).  Anthony is comfortable rapping over a variety of beats, but when it comes to trap, he is completely in the zone.  "BLK" is no exception, Anthony spitting furnace-temperature bars at blinding speed.  It'd be nice to see these two working together more in the future, considering how entertaining the result is here.

Jæson Anthony is set to launch a new website, thefamousfailure.com, which will showcase everything from the rapper's history to his latest tracks.

I received my degree in English from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, and Virginia is still home. Apart from my yearly pilgrimage to Moogfest and occasional shows in DC, Detroit, and New York, I like to stick to the fringes, with an eye always open toward music that is forward-thinking and unique, whatever the genre.
