LA based rock group Dorothy is exactly what I love about female fronted rock music: Dorothy's vocals have a throaty, raspy growl that rips through your soul, proving that women can shred as hard as men. I’ll re-quote Prefix on the group and say, “Rock isn’t dead,” as new single “Wicked Ones,” off of their upcoming debut EP proves. And it isn’t for the faint of heart as the premiere of the track on Billboard also shows. "Wicked Ones" is positively sinful, with illusions to holy men and tongue-in-cheek references to play around with throughout, held fast by a steady, pounding beat from Zac Morris and howling guitar and bass riffs from Mark Jackson and Greg Cash. It’s that throw back middle finger up rock n’ roll mentality that many say is missing in the current music industry. It’s those late night booze fueled parties and careless abandon that unabashedly rock music is capable of. And behind all of those wicked sins there is a woman whose irresponsible decisions make for wonderful not so tall tales of Hollywood.
