South Africa's live electronic duo Goldfish has set out to honor one of their home country's most cherished musical icons, Rodriguez, by remixing his most remembered song "Sugar Man."
After becoming internationally heralded through the impact of the 2012 documentary Searching for Sugar Man, the man behind the music finally got the attention he deserved for his innovative and powerful music that got lost at the time of its release in the 1960s. Now a resident of Detroit, Rodriguez is no longer a mystery to his fans in South Africa, and has gained fans everywhere, including his own country. In their remix of "Searching for Sugar Man," Goldfish has of course kept the beauty and rawness of the original track by including some emotion and deepness to their reworking. Check it out below.
