When it was announced that Zack de la Rocha would be featured on Run The Jewels 2, I nearly lost it. It's one of those perfect combinations that makes you wonder why it took them this long to come together. As the frontman for the politically charged rap/rock group Rage Against the Machine, it would only make sense for him to eventually cross paths will Run The Jewels, brainchild of Brooklyn rhymer and producer El-P and ATL's Killer Mike. Lyrically, each artist is on point: Mike comes right out of the gate with a series of bars referencing William Powell's famed bad boy read, The Anarchist Cookbook; P plays verbal gymnastics and tells it like it is; and Rocha drops rhymes on everybody from Miles Davis to Philip K. Dick to the almighty Rakim.

2014 may have started off as a cold year for hip hop fans, but based on their previous releases from the album, "Blockbuster Night Part 1" and "Oh My Darling Don't Cry," I guarantee RTJ2 will be on everybody's "best of" list. The album drops on October 27th via Nas' Mass Appeal Records. Blast this joint while you want for that glorious day to come.
