"Bear Biscuit," the latest track from Mr Oizo, should come with a whiplash warning. Opening with an ominous drone, the track explodes into head-banging stupidity, and I mean that in the very best way. For almost three minutes disconnected voices, abrasive fire-alarm squeals, and steroid-injected glitch mosh together in a beautiful demonstration of organized chaos. As the dust settles and a broken-record vocal loop closes out the track, one gets the feeling of being in a post-Godzilla Tokyo; equal parts confusion, terror, and amazement.
"Bear Biscuit" is a glimpse of Oizo's new album, The Church, out November 17 on Brainfeeder. This is easily one of his craziest tracks ever, so the album is likely to be full of surprises.
