Most of us have a soft spot for vinyl: if not for the sound, then for innately tangible nature of such releases in world of digital omnipresence. For these reasons, some entrants into the imprint game have chosen to specialize in vinyl-only releases, which is exactly the mission of British artist Dave Maclean's new venture, Kick + Clap. The Django Django frontman has paired with the celebrated distributor Because Music to carry out this quest, having selected the debut release to an EP from his countryman Neil Landstrumm.
Dropping October 20th, the 4-track work, Knights of Shame, delivers on Kick + Clap's manifesto "to put out 12" records from across many genres, that make me excited about dance-floor music." Though strangely titled to say the least, today's track, "I Can't Keep Up With The Ghost Plumber", stands as true testament to Landstrumm's practiced hand at crafting intelligent dance releases that border on mad genius. In it, you'll be lost in running electro melodies that oscillate across the track, spliced with an assortment of samples and drum work that bring a wholly unique sound to the all-vinyl label.
Look for it 10/20, with the premiere of "I Can't Keep Up With The Ghost Plumber" right here, right now on EARMILK.
