Caribou shares title track from forthcoming LP 'Our Love'

It's been a while since we've seen an album from Dan Snaith's Caribou project; his last, Swim, came out back in 2010.  That will all change on October 7, when Merge releases his latest LP, Our Love.  Snaith's already shared "Can't Do Without You," and now you can stream the album's title track "Our Love," which features contributions from Owen Pallett, who recently collaborated with Snaith's other project, Daphni, adding his trademark string arrangements to Snaith's psychedelic wizardry.

Every Caribou album sounds a little different, and it seems that Our Love will be no exception;  "Can't Do Without You" and "Our Love" are a hint at what new tricks Snaith has up his sleeve. The tracks feature both normal and pitch-shifted vocals, and rather than having full-fledged lyrics as on most Caribou songs, they substitute this for one hypnotically repeated line, a tactic more often found in dance music.  Dan Snaith is as consistently inventive as they come, he's never let us down before, and Our Love is looking to be an exciting new chapter.

Caribou will tour North America and Europe with support from Hyperdub's Jessy Lanza, who's debut LP Pull My Hair Back is very worth checking out in its own right.  Full tour dates are below.

I received my degree in English from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, and Virginia is still home. Apart from my yearly pilgrimage to Moogfest and occasional shows in DC, Detroit, and New York, I like to stick to the fringes, with an eye always open toward music that is forward-thinking and unique, whatever the genre.
