With all the commotion around festivals, it seems only suiting that EARMILK offers our readers some guidance through the dross to the most exciting events. This upcoming weekend, thousands will cluster to Montreal's new electronic music festival; îleSoniq. The event is located on an island off Montreal at Parc Jean-Drapeau. The highly anticipated festival will take place during August 15th and 16th, with an official launch party and several afterparties for those who need to move.
îleSoniq's premiere year will only lead to further advancement down the years. The entire lineup is strongly weighed each day to provide an organized schedule that covers a musical palette. Below you'll find five musicians who have us anxious in anticipation for their live performances. All these artists have proved themselves in their mixes and production, so you will see an example for each artist.

Easily one of the most exciting artists to perform at îleSoniq is dubstep guru Kill The Noise. Jake has undoubtable skills with his live mixes because he has years of experience as a DJ also under the name Ewun. Having worked heavily in the past few years with OWSLA, he has built a foundation of signature remixes and originals.

Andru is originally from Montreal, but remains forever faceless on the internet. His style of sound is strangely unique and never seems to linger in any particular structure. From dreamscape to trap, Andru will definitely play a series of summer tracks, as the first performance Friday at Superheroes Anonymous Stage.

This duo, originally from Toronto, is sure to make motion when they perform Saturday for îleSoniq. Having settled their sound in heavy electro and complex electro, they are sure to play an energetic set. Torro Torro will perform from 5:15pm – 6:15pm at the Neon Stage, just as the mood starts to really take off.

Zeds Dead comes as no real shock to be part of îleSoniq because DC and Hooks both hail from Toronto. After their most recent release, Somewhere Else, Zeds Dead have been on a hiatus to travel around and play their new music. This continuously creative pair will take the Oasis stage on Saturday to headline from 8:30pm-9:45pm.
