In celebration of reaching 20,000 followers on SoundCloud, producer SevnthWonder has dropped a remix of Tinashe and Drake's track "2 On" to download for free. Tinashe's track featured Schoolboy Q originally, and the remix then came to feature Drake instead. Since its release, it has seen an array of remixes from other producers, so I reluctantly hit play when this one came onto my radar, expecting just another plain rework. But I was impressed with what I heard.
I should have known better, SevnthWonder has had me wrapped around his finger with each of his releases. From his track "Fantasy" to one of his more recent productions "Hold U Down", I'm a sucker for them all. I'd put him somewhere in the realm of the R&B, trap, soul, electronic, and chill genres, but I probably shouldn't try and classify him this early on in the game.
Although he maintains the lyrical integrity of the original, the vocals in his "2 On" remix are deeply distorted, to the point of making Tinashe sound like a guy. SevnthWonder has put a trap-tastic spin on the productions to take this remix to a new level of R&B. If you like the original track, you have to give this remix a whirl, or just have a listen to compare it to the other remixes. Let us know what you think!
