It's time for a new season of Upper Cuts by one of my favorite labels out in Portugal, Enchufada. They've been the nesting grounds for some of the greatest tropical bass, moombahton, cumbia, and the like, for a while now, and they've cleverly dubbed their style global club music.
Upper Cuts has been my favorite series for music because of their ability to showcase brilliant artists from all over the world and present it in a neat package, plus it's free, which is always a plus when it comes to discovering new music. This time they've opened their new season with Obeyah, who hails from Washington D.C.
His track "Helicopter Riddim" keeps it simple but addicting. It could easily be a track heard in a set for both global club music artists as well as a set that's a little more mainstream. It's been getting support from some of the best in the DJ community like Brodinski, Nadastrom, Brenmar, Sinden, and of course, Diplo.
