From the second this remix of “On My Mind feat. DWNTWN,” by SomethingALaMode (known together as SALM) begins we are instantly drawn into a euphoric moment in time all their own. Remixed by American producer AWE the track is a veritable explosion of what I can only describe as pure, unadulterated happiness, although some of the topics themselves could be misconstrued as sad. The Parisian duo has created an intellectual and basically flawless track here, with strong yet feather light soundscapes that only enhance the dreamlike quality (presented in wondrous visuals in the music video below). SomethingALaMode was definitely not wrong to sing out this tale of lost love here and turned what could be a negative into the ultimate positive with this sparkling mixture of joyous synths and strings.

Their debut album in 2009 showcased a passion for a combination of influences such as Stravinski as well as Daft Punk and received critical acclaim, sold 15,000 copies and gave them opening spots for the likes of The Bloody Beetroots, Icona Pop and Zedd amongst others. Based on that success, this beautiful track and new album “Endless Stairs,” which features DWNTWN, Adam Joseph, and Rinko Kikuchi it’s obvious that their place within the industry will only continue to grow. Purchase what has been described as an "electro-pop" gem on iTunes, which was recently released on April 21st!
