Super Duper is poised to take over the electronica scene in 2014. Already backed with strong support from the likes of Diplo, Noah Breakfast, Bro Safari, and AWE, this Nashville based producer has crafted a unique sound. His combination of heavy trap grooves, 808s, uplifting R&B, and airy, washed out melodies make for a perfect, banging combination. His debut 4-track EP was just released via Apothecary Compositions alongside remixes from ELOQ, Hydrabadd, and Pixelord.
"Diamonds" is a trap masterpiece, with a great progressive, melodic build-up before dropping into a heavy but uplifting trap banger. Pay attention to the sampling too, as Super Duper gets it just right. "Circus Bird" is a more upbeat, quicker trap joint with a cool, cascading drop, while "String Teaser" is a looser track, with addicting melodic keys and more great sample work from SD.
