As Chicago's Julian Malone's Diff.Rent project continues to elude our ears, he maintains his buzz with a steady stream of solid singles for listeners to enjoy while they wait. This tactic hasn't slowed down, as he released his latest track, "16 Switch", earlier this week. While not as long as some of his previous work, only clocking in at around a minute and twenty seconds, his signature emotionally infused lyrics are still, thankfully, present in abundance.

There are few emcees in the game that can call themselves as consistent as young Malone; however, his talent is how he packages his sound in a way that is fresh and interesting. On "16th Switch" he tackles many of the points that he has addressed before, for instance his passion for music, his naysayers, and his unique skill set with a microphone, but his mellower than usual delivery keeps it intriguing. Thanks to it's short length, the replay value is at a premium, which is essential because the bars he drops need to be heard more than once to appropriately appreciate them.
If you enjoyed this short snippet of a song, then you need to head over to Julian Malone's soundcloud. He has a collection of tracks that he let loose over the past few months, each better than the last. Keep an eye out for Diff.Rent, which should be dropping soon.
