Klaves' style is undeniably clean, light and always smooth. "Return" is a far step removed from anything heavy or booming, but that doesn't mean that it won't hit you when you press the play button. Much like Klaves' other productions, the track has a beautifully simple sound which, though subtle in mechanics, will leave you with a complex array of emotions by the end of this 5 minute tranquilizer enhanced with a shaker-filled beat, tin drum-sounding accents, a little bit of hope, and a tinge of sadness. A self-named house and future garage artist, Klaves, who calls Poznań, Poland home, is building up a reputation for achieving uniqueness in sound, often choosing to opt out of a weighty bass line and instead keep things on the airy side, with a focus on complex chords and precise vocal samples.
Klaves will be joining label owner and producer Nicolas Jaar for a couple of shows in the land of the Polski later this February. The two together should make for an unconventional but more over refreshing night of music.
