Deniz Koyu kicks off 2014 with "Ruby"

The back half of 2013 for the Axtone family was nothing short of stellar. Once label head Axwell retired his Swedish House Mafia duties, it was a clear focus on releases for the team, with tracks like "I Am", "Aprhodite", and "Center of the Universe" all landing on several end-of-year notable lists. Kicking off this year, the label looks to Deniz Koyu to hit the ground running in 2014 with his latest track "Ruby". While this may be the first release on Axtone for the Turkish-born producer, he is no stranger to the SHM family, including a pair of singles on Sebastian Ingrosso's Refune Records imprint.

"Ruby" is a well-produced blend of big-room synths and pulsing basslines, with a high-energy melody that is reminiscent of the Swedish House Mafia mega-crossover hit "Greyhound". While it's unlikely that "Ruby" will have the same lasting effect, it's certainly pulsing through the list of big-name supporters, including John Dahlback, Afrojack, and Alesso. If this is the way they plan to start the year, be on the lookout for both Koyu and Axtone to have big efforts in 2014.
