Danger Mouse is a very busy man these days. After working with numerous artists including The Black Keys, Electric Guest, and U2, he once again finds time to work with the Shins’ frontman James Mercer in the collaborative dyad Broken Bells. Their self-titled album Broken Bells was well received so it only felt natural for the two musicians to come together for a sequel. Their latest LP After The Disco, takes the band into a slightly different musical direction.
After releasing the single “Holding On for Life,” in early November, the duo now releases their second single off of their new album also titled “After The Disco.” This latest offering is a spacey pop song, mixed with a dose of funk over a disco groove. The track still contains the melancholy vibe that Broken Bells is known for, but they still find a way to make you move your feet. Their full-length album After The Disco will be released on February 4th.
