French Express founder, Perseus, is finally back with a new tune. It’s been over a year since “Love In Zanzibar,” but his latest track “Shadow Of The Beast” picks up right where he left off. In true Perseus fashion, he’s constructed another romantic R&B-infused house gem complete with dreamy synths and bass to die for. Most of the vocals come courtesy of Ashanti’s “Rain On Me, but we get also a few shots of Cassie’s “Long Way 2 Go.”
If this all sounds familiar, you might recall “Shadow Of The Beast” as the closing track from Perseus’s set during the French Express LA Boiler Room takeover last month. The cavalry included Moon Boots, Jonas Rathsman, and Isaac Tichauer as they kicked off their North American tour. Like most French Express releases, Perseus is just giving this one away as a free download via SoundCloud. Whoever said that chivalry was dead obviously hadn’t encountered any of these knights.
