City Calm Down is an Australian four-piece indie band that is slowly but surely making a name for itself. One of their main draws is their undeniable 80's style of production and songwriting. They have been, for the most part, on the down-low for a majority of the year, while only releasing a handful of remixes from their past work. However, they're gearing up for another release by teasing us with their latest single called "Speak To No End". If you have listened to City Calm Down's work before, you could say their most distinguishable characteristic is the singing itself. The vocals have a small resemblance to that of The Smiths, which we're more than OK with. "Speak To No End" has a plethora of retro-sounding synths echoing in and out of the layers, coupled a subtle ambiance. Don't be surprised to see the name City Calm Down sprouting up more often than not.

The name is Phil. I've been with EARMILK for handful of years now. I love all sorts of music, and I tend to change up what type of music I'm into throughout the year. However, one thing is certain: I love anything chill and mellowed out. A lot of the time, you'll see me covering smooth, chilled out grooves through our infamous Daily 2% series. 80 BPM is love, 80 BPM is life.
