Here’s the first track from the enigmatic group Tabloid. Calling their first single “Voyeur”, the track is nothing like the title’s ode to sexual satisfaction from watching others at a distance, although there is definitely an element of gratification gained upon listening. The reason behind the mysterious identity stems from their desire to force us to actually listen to the music and analyze it at face value instead of being fed context information, which sometimes dilutes the music. The group remarks, “We feel like this sort of makes a nice parallel/perpendicular to the concept of a 'news tabloid' as those are generally just barraging you with unnecessary information and noise, to distract you from the lack of true content — we're trying to achieve the opposite.” The track features some pretty stellar vocals and a dark twist that had me hooked at first listen.
