Sir CRKS (pronounced 'Sir Crooks'), a Houston native and hip hop enthusiast, specializes in chopped and screwed remixes, his latest being a rework of Michigan hip hop artist Waldo's latest track "Explicit Content." The significantly slowed tempo and droned vocals that repeat "Tell me what is on your mind, tell me am I wasting my time," set up a slightly gritty and undoubtedly laid back intro. Afterwards, Waldo proceeds to tell you what is on his mind. The deepened vocals add a well integrated dark element to Waldo's story of being on the come up while staying true to who he is. Chill out a bit and soothe yourself with the pleasing combination of a smooth, sluggish bass line and solid lyrics, and look forward to more reworks because it doesn't begin or end here. You can count on Sir CRKS to inject his own Texas trill style to whatever track catches his attention for quite some time.
