In some circumstances, the idea of using a “drop” or climax to complete an EDM track is overrated, and more can be done with a long exploration of the senses. In the scintillating new track “MIXED,” by Vienna based, Brazilian national DJ Joyce Muniz we find a perfect example of deep house done right, simmering in the pot, but never quite coming to a full boil. Signed to Exploited Records, Muniz has created a stimulating soundtrack that is applicable in swanky hotels, classy clubs, and poolside soirees, like a fine mixed drink. Released via the THUMP channel by VICE on Thursday, “MIXED” is blended with bottomless bass sounds and a subtle kick snare groove that will flow through your veins. So take a deep breath, sip on a gin and tonic, and let the track wash through you.
