You might remember Baby Alpaca's “Sea of Dreams” from back in April. The vocals, relaxed and reverbed. The melody, dreamy, yet grounded by the pleasing and persistent guitar work. It was almost like being tied to the dock, surging with the wave and tides.
Here Turbotito replaces most of the guitar with synthetic sounds. Untethered from familiar instrumentation, he casts us out with the tide. Surging between clean electronic drums and Baby Alpaca’s voice, it’s hard not to get lost. There’s still some vestigial guitar, reversing and coiling in small swells. Everything moves together so perfectly. So go ahead and fall into five and a half minutes of riptide.
