The seductive Alicia Keys and Maxwell track, “Fire We Make” receives the remix treatment courtesy of Progressive House DJ and producer Michael Brun. Michael’s trademark up-tempo dance style is on full display in the “Fire We Make (Club Mix).” You can hear glimpses of Brun’s background in percussion-heavy Rara and Afro-groove music during transitions between the slower grooves and electro house dance sections. And, you can hear dashes of synth pop and electro scattered throughout the beat.
One of the most important aspects of a good remix is being able to create something new and interesting for the listener to hear without compromising the integrity of the original song. This is not an easy task, and I believe it is one of the most underrated art forms in music. There are many producers that remake tracks, but not all of them do it well. A good remix can be just as good, if not better than the original piece. I believe Michael Brun may have accomplished that feat with his most recent production.
