Stanford grad and femme fatale MC K.Flay brings us “Starfvcker,” the last release on her new EP, What If It Is . It’s clear from the track and the rest of the extended play, which debuted on August 6, that K.Flay isn’t afraid to be straightforward with her lyrics and we love how she’s not hiding any of her opinions. A pointed reference to seeking out second-rate fame, the track mixes a killer bass line with elements of trap, even a little pop, and K.Flay’s almost grungy sing-talk overlaying this galactic-sounding number creates the raw and unique vibe we know her so well for.
K.Flay will be rounding out the summer with a tour starting this Saturday, August 10 at the Nines Festival in Massachusetts. She’ll be joining synthpop duo Icona Pop on their US tour three days later on August 13. What If It Is is available for full streaming on her soundcloud and for purchase over on iTunes.
