Building up to the September 17 release date for Maybach Music Group's Self Made, Vol. 3, Rick Ross premiered the single "I Wonder Why" earlier today. The Trayvon Martin case was a clear influence on the record with numerous references to Florida's "Stand Your Ground" law and inclusions of courtroom dialogue.
This type of content and subject matter make the record more compelling given the recent verdict and Ross' own Florida affiliation.The beat on the other hand is a little more generic with your typical Rick Ross/trap style instrumental of heavy bass and rattling high-hats. In any case, Self Made, Vo.3, should have plenty of standout tracks given the success of Meek Mill's "Levels" and Wale's The Gifted. Check out "I Wonder Why" below.
