Kate Ellwanger, a.k.a. Dot, hails from Olympia, Washington. She is an experimental beatsmith with a background in classical music, which makes for an interesting ingredient in modern track lacing. This 21-year-old producer will be releasing her new album Evolve or Dissolve on June 25 via Alpha Pup Records. Her quirky style is exemplified through her organic approach to beat-making and her influence from artists such as Nosaj Thing, Portishead, and James Blake.

She utilizes a generous amount of loopy synths along with a solid percussive foundation. The dream-like vibe is oddly exhilarating, reeling you in from the very beginning seconds.
