When you think about new-age New York rappers, the likes of A$AP Rocky, Joey BadA$$ and FlatBush Zombies come to mind. Newcomer Skizzy Mars is another name that deserves to be added to this growing list of rising artists emerging from the Tri-State area. His music takes on a different approach from his counterparts, opting for a hip-hop meets indie/pop approach for most of his instrumental choices.
His stand-out internet hits have made him the voice of university students across the country with singles like "Colours", "Douchebag", and one of my favorites, "Pay for You" featuring G-Eazy. It is very understandable why there is growing hype around Skizzy. He released "15", a new song from his debut project Phases set to drop March 26.
