Tiger Waves – "Fields" [Premiere]

If you don't listen closely, you might just miss the sadder streaks in the sun-bleached guitar pop that Tiger Waves float up from Austin. But they're there, those light yearning waves, locking together arrangements that otherwise might be in danger of being washed away with the rest of the Brian Wilson backwash. The group's brand new single "Fields" emerges as the kind of vernal southern American sound that sounds saddest in the light of midwinter, but still inspires hope that the frost will be gone soon. Those of us who have listened steadfastly to Mojave 3 on repeat while trudging through 18 inches of dirty snow know the feeling.

In preparation for the release of their sophomore LP (as of yet untitled and due out this spring), Tiger Waves will be hitting the road for a three-week winter tour. They're hoping to close in on a Kickstarter deal in three days' time, but will be bouncing around the southeast next week no matter what.

We're happy to premiere "Fields", the first single off of the followup to 2011's Only Good Bands Have Animal Names. Tiger Waves have grown measurably in the last year and a half and we can't wait to see where their 2013 travels take them.
