Krystal Klear – "More Attention"

Krystal Klear is a perfect fit for Kerri Chandler's MadTech Records. He's a Manchester Rinse.fm DJ with steady fingers on the pulse of house; you need only hear "We're Wrong" or "You Said You Loved Me" to verify that statement. Or you could electronically comb through his record bag here; the takeaway is that he knows his stuff and he's doin' it well. He's got yet another bomb on his hands with his newest, "More Attention", a powerfully catchy single to say the least. It's receiving support from big names like Skream, Benga, and Annie Mac – it's easy to see why when you listen:

The intro only barely hints at the beautiful madness to come; Jenna G's superb voice slinks in during a brief lull before the track slingshots into full effect. The slamming drums, the jaunty bassline, even the fine aged sax solo excels. It's throwback at its best yet perfectly present, a chartered tour through effervescent keys and uplifting melodies from there to now. Already sounds like a classic – there's no doubt we'll be seeing this one rinsed for a while.

B-side types will no doubt go nuts for "My Love Is Burning". If you thought "More Attention" couldn't be matched, prepare for immolation; the energy level of the previous track is maintained through an equally infectious vocal warble and big percussion, in particular some claps that really shine in the bubbling breakdown. No need to mince words when it comes to this release: it's pure house magic. MadTech's done it again. Out now as a Beatport exclusive, everywhere else on October 8th.
