It's rare for me to feel equally drawn to both a remix and an original that are so different in mood, but the seventh installment in the Sonarpilot Remixed EP series, out on Sonarpilot's own label Sonarpilot Audio, definitely does the trick. The release opens with Sonarpilot's bass-heavy Chicago-style house track "Open House". Then, UK house scenester Danny J Lewis, known to some as Tate Modern or Enzyme Black, dutifully takes the track on three different remix journeys, bringing the minimal, deep original into uplifting territories with a fresh lead line and 90s touch. A dub version and keyapella version round out the release.
