David Puentez first appeared here on Earmilk last year with his Avicii-inspired "Melodrama", and since then he's gone on to drop some of the best mid-intensity progressive house tracks I've come across. Just released on his Soundcloud earlier this week, "One Day" is surely a track to please the ears of any house junkie. It’s a mix between the entrancing vocals that Puentez displays in tracks like "Things We Do 4 Love" and the tech house vibes you get from older productions like "Malla". Remixing a track by Asaf Avidan (considered to be the Robert Plant of our generation) and one of the greats, Koen Groeneveld, is a tough one to live up to. Other producers, such as Ahmet Sendil, remixed Koen’s "Turboprop", which resulted in big jumpstart to his career.
"One Day" takes you on a epic journey that you never want to end. The initial build up is ultimately accompanied by a classical guitar and an off-beat snare drum that creates a super poppy beat that still has those mellow undertones you crave at summer EDM festivals. And with vocals like these from Asaf, what's not to love about this remix from one of the most underrated producers out there right now?
