The day has come! Yesterday Dim Mak Records finally dropped the much-anticipated remix EP of Canadian electronic artist Autoerotique’s “Roll the Drums”, an electro house banger mixed with the soothing vocals of Marissa Jack. Recently, Aoki’s been busy partnering up with some of the biggest dance festivals in the world, like Beatpatrol, Tomorrowland, and Electric Zoo, to bring fans a taste of the world-class talent signed to his label. Three such artists contributed remixes of “Roll the Drums”, all of which we have here for you today.
Felix Cartal shows us a softer version of the track, focusing his attention on the vocals and mids. Broad, refined melodies flow over a bouncy beat, giving the track a slight progressive feel that makes it perfect for a crowded dance floor.
Next Clockwork brings a heavily percussive remix, focused around some major drops that fall into grinding and undulating bass lines. After the second drop a staccato synth line begins circulating in the background, continuing until the track breaks into another mesmerizing assault of bass.
Last but certainly not least, Torro Torro's remix makes use of one of the most intriguing synth patches I've heard this year. Already finding massive success using it with their "Go Deep" and "Datsun Tropicalia" remixes, which have been receiving massive support from the biggest names in the game, their "Roll The Drums" remix takes the original and downplays Marissa Jack’s vocals, while their signature bass sounds take precedence throughout the song.
