After making waves with his Mar & The Park-assisted single "Under Water", not to mention commissioning a superb remix crafted by Full Crate, producer/DJ and KCRW radio host Anthony Valadez released his latest full-length project, Just Visiting earlier in the month.
The album, which is Valadez's debut release on the Los Angeles-based label Plug Research, features a host of guest appearances from like-minded artists such as Def Sound, Joya Mooi, Miles Bonny and label-mate Anna Wise of Sonnymoon. Just as the list of featured artists suggests, the album is a diverse musical offering. “I feel like each song is different but the common denominator is that it has soul,” explains Anthony. “I feel like this is a soul record in so many different directions, from soul jazz to weirdo soul.”
