If I was stranded on a remote island and was given an opportunity to select one singer to accompany me on my journey into exile Dent May would surely have a spot on my shortlist. The Mississippi born singer-songwriter has the uncanny gift of crafting infectiously good mood elevating music. After being introduced to May's saccharine coated feel good tunes with his debut LP, The Good Feeling Music of Dent May & His Magnificent Ukulele, I like many of May's fans have been waiting patiently for the arrival of his sophomore effort, Do Things.
On "Home Groan", the latest single off May's forthcoming album, the Southern gentleman admits New York City isn't his style as he delivers a tune about his refusal of the enticing bright lights of NYC and LA for a more down home locale one can presume is May's native Oxford, Mississippi.
In addition to streaming "Home Groan", check out May's previously released single "Best Friend" and two official remixes. Also, put in your pre-order for Do Things (available in both CD and vinyl), which will be available June 12 via Paw Tracks.
