This time of year, many of us living in the Northern hemisphere are more than ready for warmer temperatures to come along. While we still have more waiting to do before summer weather can reach full effect, the Swedish solo pop act Summer Heart is here to help prepare us for the coming warm vibes with his latest single “Buckle Up,” out today via Kitsune. The track is the final installment of his project #12SongsofSummer, where he intermittently released twelve singles over the course of a year as an alternate way of packaging a collection of music.

“Buckle Up” is an adequate finale to the campaign, with its laid-back groove and warm textural production against some gentle vocals that all work together for a shimmery track that evokes images of rolling waves against a beach sunset. Summer Heart shows off some impressive musicianship, tastefully crafting music with electronic elements in a way that sounds entirely organic. While his #12SongsofSummer project has come to a close, “Buckle Up” should make listeners excited for what’s to come next from Summer Heart.
