Major Look – Hush Ya Gums [Video]

Major Look is a new project that sees Stapleton hook up with producer Crystal Clear to create some of the catchiest and most talked about vocal DnB tp be rolling around for a while. Imagine if Professor Green hooked up with early Chase and Status and you would be pretty close to what these guys have done. What stands out for me the most, both in this track and the previous video "Levels", is how this reminds so much of old school DnB. It seems to resist the obvious combo of taking a wobbly Skrillex bassline and setting it to 180 BPM in lieu of pure rolling drums and a rude jump up bassline that would be as happy being played by Shy FX or Nicky Blackmarket.

The single is being release on March 4th under Cold Blood Recordings. Since then the pair have been enjoying regular Radio 1 and 1 Xtra airtime. The release comes with both a club mix and a house mix aimed squarely at the dancefloor. Check out the video below and club mix below.

I am a man from London town. I sound like I am from Oliver Twist and often wear a monacle. It helps me feel more victorian innit. Given the choice I would spend all day browsing the net listening to music, sadly I'm still looking for a way of getting to do that. Though I am close. I write for earmilk.com. Mainly UK stuff, electronic, post dubstep band stuff, some hip hop anything that catches my eye or ear really.
