In a very unfortunate way, it's likely you've heard the venerable Chris Dave without realizing you have heard him. If you check the liner notes, he's been included on works by Adele, Mos Def, Robert Glasper, Lupe Fiasco, MF Doom and Kanye West. Touted by Questlove as "the most dangerous drummer alive" who "is totally reinventing just what you can do with drums", Dave has been compared to everyone from Tony Allen (arguably one of the greatest drummers to ever live, says Brian Eno) to J Dilla (says The Revivalist). Today he released an insanely wonderful rendition of Big Sean's club anthem, "Ass", making sure there was enough bass to match that ass.
