Derek Vincent Smith (aka Pretty Lights) released his newest track, "We Must Go On", alongside a music video he made himself. The track he's released is infused with soul, hip-hop vibes, and an uplifting vocal hook. As with a majority of his tracks, Pretty Lights has managed to create an optimistic energy about this tune that almost contradicts the haunting nature of the vocals. The overlays of sound within "We Must Go On" are undeniably beautiful, and truly provide the listener with everything Pretty Lights' music is about. According to Smith, "…the creation of this track and video is also an artistic explanation as to why I chose the name 'Pretty Lights' for my musical project. It embodies the essence of the artistic eye and the idea that almost any moment, anywhere, can be a moment of inspiration and beauty."

As for the video that coincides with the track, it encompasses emotions ranging from desperate to joyous through a collage of shots that capture moments in people's lives. The video and audio overlap within the experience of watching the video, and it's as if the viewer's sense of hearing and vision become one for a moment. The cuts of shots in the video are precise and in synchronicity with the music. Derek collaborated with Krystle Blackburn (Pretty Lights Music's creative director) to create the style of music video that has come to life.
