This Australian duo just recently released their debut LP entitled Pacific Connection and it's one of those releases that instantly has you hooked. You instantly find yourself wanting to find every piece of music these guys have ever touched. It's a similar feeling you might of gotten when you first heard Since I Left You from The Avalanches, back in the day. And it's fitting considering both groups hail from Australia. So, this album from Paper Plane Project is full of varying genres but mostly consists of hip-hop, world, tribal, downtempo and some things that you just don't have a descriptive enough word for. A good term to describe it is "future funk". Also, this group got its start after a digging trip to Brazil which goes to show where the worldly influences come from. The track I'm bringing to you today is called "Under The Trees" but I HIGHLY suggest buying the album because EVERY song on the LP is a breath of fresh air.
