It's strange that with all the lines blurring between R&B, Juke, UK Dubstep and so on these days that there hasn't been a dance-music-inspired rap producer that's really blown my mind since The Neptunes. 5kinandbone5 just may be the next Chad and Pharrell. Don't make the mistake, however, of labeling them solely as rap producers, as the boys have been varied in their production thus far, crossing genres with remixes for artists ranging from Brenmar to Plastikman to Gant Man and collabs with Jubilee, Sinden and Vin Sol.

Let's close our eyes for a second and forget about Riff Raff's flossing and take in the beat for Hide And Seek. The Neptunes had their Nelly moment so we'll forgive this and hope the boys would be so kind as to release an instrumental.

As mentioned, their debut EP Stomp//Pop Painkillaz is a tough album to fit into a box. Fitting that it would be released on Sinden's imprint Grizzly who himself is well know for blurring genres. As you might expect the group of remixers is far from predictable including Turbo stalwarts Renaissance Man, S-Type and Sinden on the EP as well as a little diddy from Cedaa recently put up on their soundcloud for free DL.
If you were a fan of Look At Me Now it's time to get up on the real ish. Go cop the EP on Juno or wherever you buy your music and stay tuned for 5kinandbone5 side project Amen Brother with Vin Sol set to come out on Fool's Gold soon. I have a feeling it won't be long to these guys are getting 6 figure money for beats so enjoy while you can.
