[unclassified]: A Compilation from Adult Swim

Adult Swim has been a supporter of cutting edge music for a while, with tracks from artists like Flying Lotus and Clams Casino gracing their content. However, I don't think the true depth of their cultural coolness struck me until I was shown this compilation, with a tracklist that sends shivers down the spine of even the most jaded music fan.

      Chrome
Download: Ginz – Chrome

This free compilation seemingly came out of nowhere with tracks (some previously unreleased) from future garage, dubstep, and other innovative bass artists like Ikonika, Starkey, Untold, Zomby, Burial, Kode9, Actress, honestly, the list is endless, and I can't even do a good job of highlighting the featured artists, because they all kick some serious butt. This is a superstar roster that might as well be entited "The Best of Wobble:" most of the stuff here is derived in some capacity from the dubstep genre, but you won't find wompy bass a la Rusko and Datsik; instead, you'll find subtle, darker, wobbly bass to get you through the day and still keep you dancing. Hold your breath, here's the full tracklist:

      08 Golddigger
Download: SBTRKT – Golddigger

01. Ikonika – World on Mute
02. XXXY – Kerpow
03. Untold – Peaky
04. Geiom – Pure Bristle
05. Ginz – Chrome
06. Lukid – Running from the Demons
07. Geenus – Knife and Gun feat. Riko, Wiley and Breeze (Dusk & Blackdown 2step mix feat. Farrah)
08. SBTRKT – Golddigger
09. Starkey – Eris
10. Actress – Murder Plaza
11. Zomby – Hezagons
12. Dauwd – Ikopol
13. Boxcutter – Waiting for the Lights
14. Babe Rainbow – Give You Time (feat. Ashley Webber)
15. Burial – Street Halo
16. Kode9 – Just Inside
17. Pinch – Blow Out the Candle
18. Cooly G – R U Listening

      03 Peaky
Download: Untold – Peaky

I've included a bunch of tracks for your preview pleasure, but this is straight fire, and it's free and readily available, so really, you should just nab it. You can download or stream the whole compilation over at Adult Swim. There are also video interviews with Actress and Pinch accompanying the mixtape.

PS: A related semi-non-sequitur: will I be seeing any of you Earmilkers at Zomby's show in Brooklyn this Saturday? :)

      11 Hezagons
Download: Zomby – Hezagons
