This is your Daily 2% – Chilled and Ready to Serve. We will try to bring you one "chill" track every day. This is for when you get home and you are trying to unwind. You reach for that glass of wine or that unlit Black & Mild or maybe you reach for something more herbal. This track is for those times. We are just your milkmen and I'm here to make a delivery. Chill….. [Guest Curator]
Today's edition of the Daily 2% is brought to you by Swiss producer Raphael Ripperton, more well known simply as Ripperton. Releasing music under a number of different aliases (including Lazy Fat People and Soul Merge), his 2010 full-length record Niwa, released as Ripperton, saw the producer working with extremely organic textures and incorporating numerous live sounds into his pieces. "The Sandbox," the fourth track from Niwa, is exemplary of the toned down, feel-good vibes effervescing from the record as a whole. From the shaker-heavy percussion and warm synthesizer tones to the looped chant of French children, all the elements of "The Sandbox" are assembled in such a relaxed fashion that the track is tailored perfectly to those moments when you just need to 'chill.'
Enjoy!
