I've been talking about how much credit Blitzen Trapper should get for being one of the best indie bands to drop a record in the last year. Their new video for their song "Black River Killer" lives up the my praises. Everytime I show someone this song they get all giddy and tell me how it sounds like Bob Dylan's voice and Dr. Dre's synth leads had a demon baby. I seriously can not get enough of this band.
Blitzen Trapper is a Portland, Oregon-based experimental folk rock band signed to Sub Pop Records. The release of Furr in 2008 won them a two-page feature in Rolling Stone. The album was ranked #13 on Rolling Stone's Best Albums of 2008 while the title track was ranked #4 on the magazine's Best Singles of 2008. That's gotta say something right!?
