The Odd Future head honcho just performed his first television performance since the release of his fourth studio album Flower Boy. Tyler, The Creator brought out Steve Lacey and Anna of the North to perform "911" on the "Late Show" with Stephen Colbert.
The smooth track begins with a group of friends grooving to the beat under a giant disco bee. Tyler gets his groove on as well while sporting classic bright pink floral print pants on stage. He is shortly joined by the talented vocalist Steve Lacey to carry out the hook. Though absent from the performance, Frank Ocean's verse was celebrated with a soul train line ending with an unprecedented Jasper Dolphin back flip.
The beautiful melody and the calming vibes of the performance distract from the true somber tone of the lyrics. However, this is the perfect song for Tyler to present on the "Late Show" as it genuinely shows his evolution both as a musical artist and a man.
Tyler seemed to thoroughly enjoy the performance with his peers and friends this time around. But if that wasn't enough Flower Boy for you, here is a clip of the trio having a little rehearsal with Tyler on the keys:
