Since its humble beginnings on Cal State Long Beach's college radio station, Soulection has grown into an international powerhouse for neo-soul and alternative R&B discovery. Spearheaded by Joe Kay, the weekly radio program has now grown to be a game-changing music collective, full-service independent label, and even the centerpiece of its own music festivals. Soulection Radio Show 500 curated by Joe Kay 6pm – 8 pm
Soulection Radio boasts listeners in over 160 countries and is one of Apple Music's longest running specialty shows, having migrated to the platform more than 5 years ago. One of the most well-respected platforms for identifying and curating music in the last decade, the label has also achieved an RIAA gold certification with Monte Booker's smash hit collaboration with Smino "Kolors". Soulection co-founder and head of A&R Joe Kay recently sat down for a 6-part interview about the origins and growth of his company with Zane Lowe that can be found here. In addition to all the Apple Music festivities, Soulection will be unveiling an exclusive Show 500 Capsule with limited edition merch at Soulection Supply starting at 10 a.m. PST April 9.
In just 10 short years, Soulection has become less of a platform for music curation and more of a state of mind. A key slogan of Kay's Timeless Classics lifestyle collection, "music, wine, and incense" sheds light on the themes of good vibrations, chill atmospheres, and self-love that every curated artist over the last decade has exemplified so well.
