Last night in the Hidden Library at the Mondrian Hotel in New York, a select few industry leaders and press were treated to a special launch party for Samsung's partnership with Atlantic Records on its Shape Summer Mix Series. Powered by Samsung's Shape wireless speakers, Dave 1 and P-Thugg of Chromeo let attendees in on a first listen of their Summer Mix, now posted on Spotify. The duo, still in the fury of a tour and the huge success of their album White Women released on Atlantic earlier this spring, hosted some questions from the audience. Noting their growth from being fans to calling themselves artists with the help of Jamiroquai, their inspiration behind the playlist and uniting over Rick James's "Cold Blooded" on the road to becoming Chromeo and the major impact ZZ Top had on their musical and performance inclinations, the Canadian duo conveyed their intention to "Funk the world" and be "High brow without being pretentious and low brow without being vulgar" with a passionate, down to earth delivery.
