Nottingham-London based solo artist and multi-instrumentalist GoodThing delivers a celebration of feeling good and the power of self-belief on catchy and uplifting production “I Like The Way I Feel.”
Led by a signature blend of neo-soul, electronica, disco and dreampop, the genre-bending offering draws inspiration from the creative sampling of Gorillaz & Air, and the hypnotic groove of Primal Scream & SAULT, the track is rooted in a layered soundscape that also shimmers with distinct touches of funk-tinted vibrance.
With cutting guitar loops, swinging rhythms, buoyant basslines and half-spoken vocals , the track taps into a joyous, free-spirited groove elevated by vivid, playful lyricism that’s all about celebrating yourself. Produced by Callum McGuinness at Moss Studios, the track strikes a fine balance between intricate instrumentals and breezy vibe to draw us into a sonic world that has us dancing along.
Speaking of the track, GoodThing says,“With shades of disco groove, electronic, and golden era hip hop sampling it’s a homage to trusting your gut and following whatever makes you feel good. Recorded in a day with Callum McGuinness at Moss Studios, lyrically the song explores the tension and irony between dreaming big and the ways we can unknowingly hold ourselves back from getting there. “You know I would if I could but I struggle to change…”
Having established himself with a series of live shows around London and a vibrant, vintage aesthetic with cinematic undertones, GoodThing continues to rise to new heights with each new release.
