Cinematic post-rock, industrial electronic, and ambient abstract three-piece I am waiting for you last summer (IWFYLS) announce new album Without/Within alongside new single “Redshift.”
With epic, textural sounds rooted in the trio’s blend of sound and vision, the track offers fluid, immersive narrative that reflects on the nature of essence itself. Weaving a raw, forceful yet ethereal soundscape, the resonant production marks the second instalment of Without/Within which centres on a deep exploration of consciousness.
Speaking of their sonic signature, they say, “When I think about space, I don’t imagine the clean, sterile silence often portrayed in sci-fi. I imagine something much more aggressive—blurred, loud, overwhelming. In the past, people used synthesizers to represent the cosmos—but that language feels outdated now. We wanted to express that sensation differently: not through polished, futuristic sounds, but through overloaded textures. It’s not about space as a metaphor or aesthetic—it’s about expressing what it feels like to confront the unknown.”
Initially founded by Sasha Sokolov and Evgenii Popov, and later joined by Lev Nikitin, IWFYLS have carved out a space for themselves with their immersive, intense and unpredictable artistry spanning the dimensions of electronic music.
