Iconic club space in Brighton reborn as Quarters

One of Brighton's most storied venues is about to enter a new era. The former Arch nightclub is set for a major transformation this autumn as electronic music promoters AMAAD announce the launch of a new venue, Quarters. Built on the historic site of the Zap Club, one of the UK’s most influential club spaces, Quarters will reopen as a fully rebuilt, multi-use venue dedicated to high-quality electronic and live music.

The project is the latest from AMAAD (A Man About A Dog), the team behind Junction 2, The Prospect Building, LWE, and Boundary Festival. The launch of Quarters will mark AMAAD’s most significant investment in Brighton to date, following years of involvement in the city’s music scene through events like the 20,000-capacity Boundary Festival held at Stanmer Park.

Opening in late autumn 2025, Quarters will be delivered in two phases, beginning with a complete renovation of the current space. Phase one includes the unification of the venue’s two main rooms into a single large dancefloor, equipped with a custom L-Acoustics A15 surround sound system and a central 360-degree DJ booth. The design strips back production to focus on sound quality, crowd energy, and extended set formats. Additional space will be dedicated to chill-out areas and seating, reflecting a renewed focus on inclusivity and comfort.

AMAAD has partnered with Ghostwriter for live music programming, continuing their successful collaboration at Bristol’s Prospect Building, having booked the likes of Little Simz, Yungblud, and Mac DeMarco . This will bring a slate of multi-genre, high-calibre live acts to Quarters, alongside a club calendar focused on long-form DJ sets and balanced lineups that mix international names with Brighton-based talent. The venue will also be available for external promoters, aiming to become a vital cultural and creative space within the city, marking a win not just for Brighton but the whole of UK club culture.

AMAAD founders Paul Jack and Will Harold said, “We have a long track record of transforming ideas into culturally significant projects, and we’re very excited about Quarters. We aim to showcase world-class talent while also providing a platform for collaboration with Brighton’s diverse creative community.”

Further development is planned for 2026, with details on additional space and aesthetic upgrades to follow and marking an exciting new chapter for club culture in the UK. Early access tickets and updates are available via the venue’s WhatsApp group, with more information at quartersbrighton.co.uk
