UK-based trio TEZ have released their latest single, “When Our Worlds Collide.”
Originally a bedroom project, TEZ have spent the last few years expanding their sound through tours across the UK and Europe. With over a million streams on Spotify, the band delivers a jangly, summer-ready sound reminiscent of Two Door Cinema Club and Foals — complete with gentle vocals and dubby rhythms.
Having already released a smattering of singles and EPs — the most recent being March’s Gloria Runs the Shop — TEZ’s latest single is a much-welcomed, beachy interlude for a band whose peak season is undoubtedly the warmer months of the year.
A self-admitted exercise in therapy through music, “When Our Worlds Collide” continues the band’s “heartfelt journey towards optimism and inclusivity”, best shown through lyrics such as the opening sentiments "for a minute I’ve been kind of alone / you’ve been quiet are you happy on your own?"
The lyrics gently question the well-being of someone close, checking in on someone who seems to be pulling away. If music is therapy for TEZ, this song puts them squarely in session.
